Socceroos make successful start to Asian Cup Qualifing
With footy (AFL footy that is) just a matter of days (or about 36 hours (roughly)) from starting its preseason and with Ben Cousins still in the news for all the wrong reasons, it was great to hear that the Socceroos had beaten Bahrain 3-1. On top of this, the boys did it with out most of the stars and without our super coach Guus. Melbourne Victory striker, Archie Thompson scored one of the goals to add icing on the cake!
The Socceroos have made an ideal start to the Asian football competition with a second half comeback earning the national side a 3-1 win over Bahrain in Manama.
Acting skipper Josip Skoko ensured Australia began its 2007 Asian Cup qualification campaign on a positive note, guiding the under-strength and inexperienced Socceroos to victory against what loomed as their toughest opponent in Group D.
I don’t know about you, but I just can’t wait for the World Cup in Germany!
