I smell a Curry’d rat
I am a little suspicious about the Latest news from the Daily Source Code that Adam Curry allegedly got threatening letters from "Dutch representatives of international music services" saying get rid of the licensed Music from his servers/show. So what is Adam doing? He’s off in Main land Europe talking to Politician and he is moving to nothing but Podsafe music from the Podsafe Music Network. He is getting rid of the Mash-ups, Jan Polet is getting the ass, as is the Backtrack segment.
This comes on top of the recent trend of a high use of Podshow content on the DSC. If 2 out of 3 items aren’t Podshow items at the moment, I would be very surprised. And I am sick of hearing about the podsafe music network! I believe that although there may have been a letter with a threat, Adam would be ecstatic. I mean this is the excuse that he needs to push the PMN more and more. Make it the hero and basically put money in Curry’s pocket.
It’s a bit ironic that Curry is pushing PMN and Podshow podcasts down our throats, especially with the little grab he plays:
"Please save me from people who are told what to like and then like it. In my opinion, if you are over 6 years of age and your still getting your music from the radio something is desperately wrong with you."
People wake up. Curry is using the very model he pretends to hate in this new medium! He is telling you what to like. So if you let him do it and you are over 6 years old, there is something desperately wrong with you.
