Welcome to the Mollzine! Big week (for Me anyway)
I have just made the biggest step of my short blogging life and decided to move to non-free service and to go out and get my own Domain Name (www.mollyzine.com). Why you might ask? Well I was listening to G’Day World #55 where Cam was interviewing Steve Rubel, Mena Trott (from Sixapart the people behind Typepad and Movable Type) and Jackie Huba.
They were discussing Markets of conversation and made me think that I should really go out and own my own domain and use a Service like Typepad. I also have been reading and listening to Chris Pirillo who also has been talking about Blogger and the problems they have had with Splogs (spam blogs, blogs that attach themselves to popular terms but are selling something completely different). One of the things he said was exactly that you should have your own domain name (my cost me $A12 or about $US 9) and have a hosting service if your wanting to be taken seriously (said something like thinks less when he sees blogspot in a blogs URL.
So here I am. Last night and before work this morning I have brought across most of my old posts from blogger. Have made my blogger accounts point here and am in the process of changing all my Feedburner feeds point here.
The only problem that am having so far is setting up Offline Tools (like Qumana) to access Typepad. I get an login Invalid message (and yes, the username and password are correct (I believe anyway)). Anyone have any ideas?
Will post soon about my other exciting news (well exciting for me).
