You feel terrible for the West Coast pair, robbed of a Grand Final apperance through injury.

Sydney’s Stuart Maxfield is in the same boat.

Now the big one…

So now for the big question: who will win the 2005 AFL Grand Final?

Strong arguments can be mounted for both teams. Despite stumbling towards the end of the season, West Coast was the best team all year. The Eagles are motored by a brilliant midfield and have enough talent in the key positions to win both week.

I’m a Hawthorn supporter, so I’d nominally place the 1989 Hawthorn win over Geelong ahead of this as the greatest grand final since 1970.

Congratulations to the Swans and bring on trade week.
